Want to become a STEM Buddy?
Our volunteers are called STEM Buddies and as a STEM Buddy, your role may involve:
- Working with other buddies to implement tasks in the form of delivering technical sessions
- Prepare participants to showcase what they learn at the end of an event
- Working closely with Technical Directors to come up with fun STEM activities
- Writing blogs to showcase women in STEM
NB: This role may require you to handle sessions in person or remotely.

Code of Conduct
Mesrenyame and Friends welcomes, values and encourages the contribution of all persons who believe in our vision for the next generation of STEM in volunteering their time and effort to support the many curricular, activities and programs we may host.
One of our core values is to provide a safe and secure environment for all our participants and STEM Buddies during our events and interactions with them. In view of this, STEM Buddies are expected to comply with the following guidelines:
- Have respect for others; not limited to community members, other buddies and anyone involved in our activities irrespective of their age, position etc.;
- Assist in creation of an environment free from fear, harassment or exploitation;
- Avoid wasting of resources by making proper use of it;
- Buddies should use appropriate communication skills when engaging with participants and other buddies;
- While volunteering, buddies must not utilise their position to take advantage of any young person;
- Put safety first by observing safe practices/instructions given by supervisors during practical sessions which helps avoid unnecessary risks;
- Only work according to their level of competency;
- Report any safety hazard or hazardous practice they observe; and assist & participate in evacuation procedures if required.
